The correct answer is: 32
At point A , by Snell's law



μ=sin45osinrsinr=1μ2 ... (i)

At point B , total internal reflection with sini1=1μ

From figure, i1=90o-r .... (ii)

sin90o-r=1μcosr=1μ .... (iii)

Now, cosr=1-sin2r=1-12μ2=2μ2-1μ2

From equation (ii) and (iii), 1μ=2μ2-12μ2

Squaring both sides and then solving, we get

μ=32
