The correct answer is: -100 cm

The focal length fL of the left plano-concave lens can be calculated as follows-

1fL=n-11R1-1R2= 1.6-11-120 cm= -0.620 cm   ...1

The focal length fM of the middle bi-convex lens can be calculated as follows-

1fM=n-11R1-1R2= 1.5-1120 cm-1-20 cm= 0.510 cm   ...2

The focal length fR of the right plano-concave lens can be calculated as follows-

1fR=n-11R1-1R2= 1.6-11-20 cm-1= -0.620 cm   ...3

Hence, the effective focal length f of the combination of lenses can be calculated as follows-

1f=1fL+1fM+1fR= -0.620 cm+0.510 cm-0.620 cm= -0.110 cmf= -100 cm
