The correct answer is: \( \frac{2 g}{5} \)

Forces acting on different parts of the system is shown below.

For block A,

mg-2T=ma   ...(i)

For block B,

T-mg=mb   ...(ii)

And by constraint motion, if A will move by x distance, then B will move by 2x distance.

a-b+a=0   ...(iii)

Solving (i), (ii) and (iii), we get,

a=-g5 and

b=-2g5.
