The correct answer is: Synaptonemal complex
Zygotene stage is observed in prophase-I of meiosis-I divisional phase. In this stage, chromosomes start pairing together forming an association called synapsis. This pairing is observed between homologous chromosomes. This synapsis results in formation of a complex structure called synaptonemal complex. Crossing over is observed in pachytene stage of prophase-I, where exchange of genetic materials occurs. In diakinesis, the paired of chromosomes separate resulting in terminalisation of chiasmata. Chiasmata is formed when the chromosomes of synaptonemal complex separate from each other. Chromomeres are linearly arranged chromatin granules observed on chromosomes.
