Sickle cell anaemia
Sickle-cell anaemia is caused by mutation of the gene controlling $\beta$-chain of haemoglobin. Due to this mutation, glutamic acid present at $6^{\text {th }}$ position of the $\beta$-chain is replaced by amino acid valine.
