The correct answer is: 6 mm

Given, λ1=12000Å

and λ2=10000Å

D=2 cm

d=2 mm=2×10-3 m

We have,

λ1λ2=n2n1=1200010000=65

as X=n1λ1Dd   n1=5

=5×12000×10-10×22×10-3

=5×1.2×104×10-10×103=6 mm
