If a is the amplitude of the wave then

I max 4 = a 2 = a 2 + a 2 +2aacosϕ

or cosϕ= 1 2

or ϕ= 2π 3

Corresponding path difference,

Δx= ϕ×λ 2π = ( 2π 3 )×λ 2π = λ 3

So dsinθ= λ 3

Or θ= sin 1 ( λ 3d ).
