Reserve materials in prokaryotic cells are stored in the cytoplasm of the cell in the form of inclusion bodies. Gas vacuoles or gas vesicles are found in blue-green algae, purple and green photosynthetic bacteria. These vacuoles are nanocompartments surrounded by a protein membrane and help in buoyancy.
