The adrenal medulla synthesizes two hormones-adrenalin (epinephrine) and nor-adrenalin (non-epinephrine). These hormones are proteinaceous in nature and derived from amino acid tyrosine. Thus, injury to adrenal cortex will not affect the secretion of adrenaline.
