Ascariasis is an infection of the small intestine caused by roundworm species. People contract this disease through contaminated food & water. This infection usually causes no symptoms, however in case of severe infestation lungs and intestines may be affected. The roundworms in lungs cause persistent cough, breathing issues etc and when intestines are affected, the person experiences intestinal blockage, anaemia etc. Wherein causes fever, inguinal pain and genital swelling. Trichophyton causes typical infections like jock's itch or athlete's foot.
