Plant cells without cell wall are called protoplast. Protoplasts of two different plant can be fused to obtain a hybrid protoplast and grown into a new plant. Such process is called as somatic hybridization since somatic cells are used for fusion and not gametic cells. The hybrids formed from such technique are called somatic hybrid. Totipotency is the ability of a cell to grow into a complete organism. Embryo cells are totipotent. SCP-Single cell proteins are the proteins obtained from culture of single-celled organisms.
