The correct answer is:
\(\mathrm{Cu}(\mathrm{II})\) is more stable
$\mathrm{Cu}(\mathrm{II})$ is more stable than $\mathrm{Cu}(\mathrm{I})$ because hydration energy of $\mathrm{Cu}^{+2}$ ion compensate $\mathrm{IE}_2$ of $\mathrm{Cu}$.
