Fertilization is the process of fusion of male gamete with female gamete forming the zygote. In it, the nucleus of male and female gamete fuse to create one single nucleus and cell. This zygote later divides and develops into a new individual organism. The two nuclei participate in the process and fuse due to the difference in the organelle charges generated by the recombined genetic material and protein changes during the meiotic process.
