During prophase, nucleolus and nuclear membrane disappear, chromosomes and occurs after G2 interphase. In metaphase, the chromosomes are arranged at the equator of the cell and this phase acts as a checkpoint of mitosis. Centromere splits and chromatids are separated during anaphase and daughter chromosomes start moving towards the opposite poles with chromosomal disjunction. Nuclear membrane, nucleolus and ER reappears during telophase, thus two nuclei are formed, which is followed by cytokinesis.
