The correct answer is: (a)-(iv), (b)-(ii), (c)-(i), (d)-(iii)
Structure Location/Characteristics
Organ of Corti Resting on the basilar membrane is the organ of Corti (organ of hearing). The organ of Corti has about 16,000 hair cells, which are arranged into two groups. The inner group consists of only one row of cells and the outer group consists of multiple rows of cells.
Cochlea Functionally the inner ear is differentiated into vestibular apparatus for the sense of equilibrium and cochlea for the sense of hearing.
Eustachian tube The middle ear is connected to the nasopharynx through the Eustachian tube. This helps in equalizing the air pressure on both sides of the eardrum.
Stapes The base of the stapes lies on the membrane of the oval window (an opening of the cochlea). The middle ear ossicles transmit the sound waves from the tympanum to the oval window of the cochlea.
