Binary fission is a type of asexual mode of reproduction where the cell divides in two to form two new identical daughter cells. It is the most common form of reproduction observed in bacterial groups and also in some unicellular eukaryotes like Amoeba and Paramecium (type of protozoans).

Gemmules are internal buds which are asexually reproduced mass of cells found in Sponges. These are capable of developing into a new organism.

In certain organisms, small buds are produced attached to the parent organism which grow and eventually separate to develop into new organism. This process is called budding and it is a type of asexual reproduction. Hydra follows budding pattern of asexual reproduction.

Asexual spore which are motile and show locomotion using flagella is called zoospore. Many algal groups, bacteria show zoospore formation.

Penicillium a type of fungi reproduces asexually by producing non-motile spore called as conidium.
