The correct answer is: it is sterically protected
In \(\mathrm{SF}_6\), sulphur is \(s p^3 d^2\) hybridised. Both geometry and shape of the molecule is octahedral. \(\mathrm{SF}_6\) is also a non-polar molecule (dipole moment, \(\mu=0\) ), because if \(a^{-}\)and sterically protected perfectly symmetrical molecule. So, \(\mathrm{SF}_6\) is also kinetically inert.
