Circulatory system of earthworm-
- Earthworm consists of a closed circulatory system, which consists of heart, blood vessels and blood.
$-\quad$ Blood glands are present into the $4^{\text {th }}, 5^{\text {th }}$ and $6^{\text {th }}$ segments of the body, they produce blood cells and haemoglobin which remains dissolved in plasma.
$-7^{\text {th }}, 9^{\text {th }}, 12^{\text {th }}$ and $13^{\text {th }}$ segments contains four pairs of pulsatile hearts.
- Blood circulates in one direction, which is maintained by contractions of the heart.
- Alimentary canal, nerve cord and bodywall gets blood by smaller blood vessels.
- Blood cells are phagocytic in nature.
