The correct answer is: λ 4cos α
Path difference = BN + BA + λ 2

(because reflection occurs from denser medium)

In ΔACB

hAB=cos α

AB=hcos α....(1)

from right angle ΔANB

BN AB = cos 2 α

BN=ABcos2α                       ....(2)

Path difference = AB + AB  cos 2 α + λ 2

λ = AB 1 + cos 2 α + λ 2

λ2=hcos α×2cos2α

λ2=2h cos α

h=λ4 cos α
