The enzyme is generally made of proteins and proteins are made of amino acids. The amino acids have R as a functional group whose variation results in formation of different amino acids. Due to the R group, the bonding of the polypeptide chain in enzyme will differ resulting in formation of various folds and bends in its tertiary structure enabling the making of substrate binding site which is highly specific.
