Cockroaches belong to Phylum Arthropoda. The body is divided into Head, Thorax and Abdomen. Thorax is divided into three parts: Prothorax, Mesothorax and Metathorax. Prothorax has largest tergem and this is known as Pronotum. Thorax also shows presence of appendages and wings. Thorax shows three pairs of appendages attached to each part of thorax. Two pairs of wings attached are forewings and hindwings. Forewings are covered with thick sheet known as tegmina.
