Yield in tobacco plants is reduced due to infection of a nematode Meloidegyne incognitia. RNA interference (RNAi) is a process of silencing a specific mRNA by making complementary dsRNA molecule. The complementary RNA molecule will have sequence complementary to mRNA sequence, enabling formation of dsRNA. This way the protein will not be translated from the transcribed mRNA.
