Methanogens are archaebacteria, which lives in marshy area nad produces methane. They causes anaerobic breakdown of organic matter to produce methane, they are commonly present in guts of ruminate animals and produces nixture of methane, carbon dioxide and hydrogen commonly known as biogas.
