The correct answer is:
1
Focal distance of a point $\left(x_{1}, y_{1}\right)$ on the parabola is $y^{2}=4 a x$ is equal to its distance from directrix $x+a=0$ is
$\mathrm{x}_{1}+\mathrm{a}$
For $y^{2}=12 x$, comparing with $y^{2}=4 a x$.
$4 a=12 \Rightarrow a=3$
so, $x_{1}+3=4$
$\Rightarrow \quad x_{1}=1$
$\mathrm{x}_{1}+\mathrm{a}$
For $y^{2}=12 x$, comparing with $y^{2}=4 a x$.
$4 a=12 \Rightarrow a=3$
so, $x_{1}+3=4$
$\Rightarrow \quad x_{1}=1$
