The correct answer is: IV < II < III < I
Carbonates of group 2 decompose to give oxides. Thermal stabilities of carbonates increase from Mg to Ba. Beryllium carbonate in unstable and is kept only in the atmosphere of CO2 .
Group 1 carbonates (and also hydroxides) except lithium do not decompose on heating. In this problem, K2CO3 remains unchanged on heating.
