Infective stage of Plasmodium is a sporozoite inoculated into human blood by female Anopheles. Sporozoite are produced due to gamogony (sexual cycle in the stomach of mosquito) followed by sporogony (asexual cycle in the stomach wall of mosquito). Sporozoites are sickle or spindle-shaped.
