pO2 in alveolar air pCO2 in deoxygenated blood pO2 in oxygenated blood pCO2 in tissues
104 45 94 45
Partial pressure which is the pressure contributed by a single gas alone in the mixture of gases. It is represented as pG, where G represents different gases. The table gives us the pressures of oxygen and carbon-di-oxide during the exchange of gases from alveoli to blood and blood to the tissues. Carbon-di-oxide has a higher solubility in the blood (20-25) times than that of oxygen due to which the partial pressure of CO2 is lower as compared to oxygen.
