In the F2 generation of a dihybrid cross, normally 16 progeny will be formed. 10 of the progeny shows the parental phenotypes and the remaining 6 progeny shows the new phenotypes involving recombination. Accordingly, if in the F2 generation 1280 progenies are formed, 800 progeny shows parental phenotypes and 480 progenies are recombinants.
