Given, ux=v and uy=0



Separating the motion in x and y directions

Using x=uxt+12at2

40=vt       (i)

t=40v       (ii)

hnet=145-22.5
 
Using y=uyt+12at2

122.5=0+12×10t2

122.5=540v2

v=405122.5=8 m s-1
