The correct answer is: CO2

Carbon monoxide does not react with water to form an acid.

The carbon monoxide molecule is one that won't react with water at all. As the acidic oxide has a higher oxidation state, it reacts with water to produce acid, and reacts with base to produce salt.

CO2+H2OH2CO3

C+H2OsteamCO+H2

CH4+H2OCO+3H2C3H8+H2O3CO+H2 both reactions are carried out at 1270 K temp. with Ni catalyst
