Gene cloning is a process of ligating a gene of interest to a vector. The recombinant DNA produced thus is introduced into a host cell by transformation.
Each cell gets one DNA molecule and upon the growth of the transformed cell to a bacterial colony, each cell in the colony carries a copy of the gene. This is known as gene cloning.
