ADH (Antidiuretic Hormone) or vasopressin is secreted by the posterior pituitary gland. It facilitates water reabsorption from later parts of the tubule, and thus prevents diuresis.
It regulates water excretion by increasing permeability of the collecting duct for water and salt by accelerating water and ion transfer determined by the osmotic gradient.
