Oxidation : 
CH3COO-+3O¯HCH3COO-+2e-+2H2O

Reduction : AgNH32++e-Ag+NH3×2

CH3CHO+2AgNH32++3O¯HCH3OO¯+2H2O

Molecular mass M of CH3CHO=44 g mol-1

Equivalent weight =Mn-factor=442=22 g mol-1

Since aldehyde is getting oxidised therefore, it is acting as reducing agent and not oxidising agent.
