Stomach consists of proteolytic enzymes that bring about digestion of proteins. In infants there is an additional milk protein digesting enzyme known as Rennin. This digests milk protein Casein which is absent in adults. (Renin is another hormone from kidney that plays an important role in maintaining the blood pressure). Digestion in humans begin in the mouth and ends in the small intestine. Ejection of faeces is known as defaecation which is a voluntary process. If stomach contents instead of entering the small intestine enter the oesophagus this is termed as vomiting.
