The correct answer is: $\mathrm{CO}$
Carbon monoxide ( $\mathrm{CO}$ ) converts haemoglobin
to carboxyhaemoglobin. When $\mathrm{CO}$ is inhaled, it binds with haemoglobin in red blood cells with a much higher affinity compared to oxygen.
This binding forms carboxyhaemoglobin which prevents the normal binding of oxygen to. haemoglobin, leading to a decreased oxygen-carrying capacity of the blood.
