The correct answer is: It reacts with \(\mathrm{CuSO}_4\) solution to form \(\mathrm{CuHPO}_4\)
Phosphine gives a black precipitate of cupric phosphide, when passed through \(\mathrm{CuSO}_4\) solution.
\(3 \mathrm{CuSO}_4+2 \mathrm{PH}_3 \longrightarrow \mathrm{Cu}_3 \mathrm{P}_2+3 \mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{SO}_4\)
\(\mathrm{PH}_3\) is a weak base. It is prepared by as follows :
\(\mathrm{Ca}_3 \mathrm{P}_2+6 \mathrm{HCl} \longrightarrow 2 \mathrm{PH}_3+3 \mathrm{CaCl}_2\)
\(\mathrm{PH}_3\) is used in smoke screens.
Hence, option (b) is incorrect. While other options are correct.
