As the apple is released, it has two accelerations,


a1= pseudo acceleration due to acceleration to train and a2= acceleration due to gravity. 



Resultant of these accelerations are as

shown below. 



Hence, trajectory of falling apple is an inclined straight line opposite to the direction of train.
