If V is the volume of water displaced, then mass of water displaced is, m=ρwV

Now, the mass of water displaced is equal to sum of mass of water in flask and mass of flask, therefore,

ρwV=mflask+ρw50021×V=390+1×250V=640 cm3

Therefore, the volume of material of flask is, =Vouter-Vinner=640-500=140 cm3

Density of flask's material, ρflask=mV=390140=0.28 g cm-3

Specific gravity of the glass flask is, =ρflaskρwater=2.8
