The correct answer is: 8
The surface area of the liquid drop is A=4πR2

Its surface energy is E

When the drop splits in 512 droplets, the surface area of each droplet is 4πr2

Total surface area A2 =512×4πr2

The volume of bigger drop is 43πR3 and volume of small droplets is 512×43πr3

  43πR3=512×43πr3r=R8

  A2=512×4πr2=512×4πR82=8A1

Surface energy E=A.T (T is surface tension and A is area)

  EnE=A2TA1T=8A1A1=8

 En=8E
