N6-furfurylamino purine is a modified form of adenine called kinetin. It was discovered from autoclaved herring sperm DNA. It is not naturally found in plants. It has cytokinin activity and used in plant tissue culture along with low auxin to promote the formation of the stem in callus. Zeatin was isolated from corn kernels and coconut milk.
