Gymnosperm word is derived from greek word 'Gymno" means naked and 'sperma' which means naked , thus gymnosperms are naked seed bearing plants in which seed are not present inside fruits, as gymnosperms are non flowering plants in which ovules are borne directly on mega sporophyll. Thus ovules remains exposed before and after fertilization.
