As stated by Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), particulate size micrometers or less in diameter (PM 2.5) cause greatest injury to health of humans. These particles when inhaled cause multiple respiratory problems such as breathing problems, inflammation and irritation, damage to the lungs resulting in premature deaths. Particulates of such a small size cannot be removed by electrostatic precipitator also.
