AIDS (Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome was described first time in 1981 (Africa). It is the result of an infection by the Human Immuno Deficiency Virus (HIV). It is a lentivirus within the family of Retroviride. Principal target cells for HIV are $\mathrm{T}_4$ lymphocytes because these cells have $\mathrm{CD}_4$ receptor protein for interaction of HIV.
