The electron distribution in O 2 is :

 O22- is diamagnetic and O2- is paramagnetic. In AlO2-, oxide ions O2- are present

and oxide ion is diamagnetic.

NO2 has one unpair electron hence paramagnetic but NO2+ has no unpair electron therefore diamagnetic
