Syncytium means 'together' or 'fused'. It is multinucleate cell formed by formation of uninucleate cells. This is seen in plants too. Coconut contains liquid known as liquid endosperm. It is formed by free nuclear divisions without undergoing cytoplasmic division. Hence it is multinucleate or syncytium.
