Assertion (A): In a region of constant potential, the electric field is zero and there can be no charge inside the region.
Reason (R): According to Gauss law. charge inside the region should be zero if electric field is zero.
For Assertion,
Potential difference is given by , If is zero, the potential will remain constant.
For Reason,
If in a region electric field is zero, net flux through any closed surface in that region will be zero. Therefore, if electric field is zero, according to Gauss's law the charge inside the region should be zero. Therefore, reason statement is correct, but it does not explain why the potential is constant.
