Chromosome walking is used in genetic mapping. It is a method of positional cloning used to find, isolate and clone a particular allele in a gene library. It is DNA based method of genetic mapping in which the chromosome is analysed by extending one tip to reach the other. This involves systematically moving along the chromosome from a known location to an unknown location.
