Length of simple pendulum=L




Now, in OAB,  cosα=OAOB

or cosα=OAL

or AO=L cos α

and AP=OP-AO

AP=L-L cos α

or h=L(1-cos α)

The maximum kinetic energy of bob

= Maximum potential energy

KE=Mgh

KE=MgL(1-cos α)
