Let, the cone is obtained by rotating about BC

From the diagram, the radius of the cone is AB and the height is BC
The volume generated, V=13πr2h=13π4-x2x
For maximum volume, dVdx=0
4-3x2=0x=23

 Vmax=π34-4323=16π93
Also, d2Vdx2<0

Hence, x4-x2=234-43=1633
