The correct answer is: 41/3W

The work done will be against surface tension and we know that surface tension is related to work as W=T×A
Since, the surface area of sphere is 4πR2 and there are two free surfaces, we have

W=T×8πR2      ...(i)
and volume of sphere =43πR3

i.e. V=43πR3

R=3V4π1/3   ...(ii)

From Eqs. (i) and (ii), we get

W=T×8π×3V4π2/3

⇒  WV2/3

 W1V12/3

and, W2V22/3

W2W1=2V1V12/3

W2=22/3W1=41/3W
